Workout Routines Guaranteed To Get You Six Pack Abs

We all know the important role that exercise plays in any health and fitness goal, but it is particularly important for people that are looking to get six pack abs. In order to achieve the best possible results more quickly however, it is important to split your workout routine into low intensity and high intensity workouts.

Low intensity workouts

As the name implies, low intensity workouts are exercises performed at a relatively slower pace. This makes them ideally suited to people that get tired or winded easily when performing more intense exercise routines. Low intensity workouts are performed at moderate speeds and maintained for about 30 minutes to an hour. They work on the principle of reaching your heart rate’s target zone, which is usually 5 to 10 minutes after you being working out. When you have reached this point, your body begins to burn fat on its own, and will continue to do so for as long as you keep up that heart rate.

Some of the low intensity exercises you can perform are:

  • Walking. This is actually a very effective form of exercise in spite of its seeming ease and simplicity. If you are looking to increase the intensity of this exercise, you can try walking uphill or even jogging lightly. In fact, even just increasing the distances and the times you walk during the course of your day-to-day activities can work wonders.
  • Running. This takes your exercising to the next level, and is a great way to get your heart pumping to fat-burning levels quickly. Unfortunately, running can put quite a bit of strain on the joints–in the knees and ankles in particular–which is why some people opt to use an elliptical machine instead.
  • Cycling. This type of exercise can be performed on either a regular bike or a stationary one. If the weather is good, you can even bike to work everyday, allowing you to get some exercise even as you perform your daily commute.
  • Swimming. This is a great way to get a full body workout. And it offers the advantage of not putting any pressure at all on your joints.
  • Racquetball. For a low intensity sport, this one can sure make you work up a sweat. The short bursts of intense sprinting will surely get you burning lots of fat in the process.
High intensity workouts

High intensity workouts involve exercises that are performed in short, intense bursts, with periodic cool down periods in between. The increased heart rate means that you will be burning more fat than with lower intensity exercises. Some of the high intensity workouts you can perform are: jumping rope, sprinting, and spinning.
