Other Ways of Consuming

Over thousands of years people have been using Goji Berries in Tibet and China.  Many clinical studies have showed that Goji is quite possible the healthiest food on earth.  Goji juice just provides an easier way to drink (or consume) the Goji Berries.  Actually, Goji Juice can make for an excellent snack.  With Goji Juice you can also benefit from the excellence of more than one fruit, many Goji Juices also contain blueberries or blackberries for added flavor.  Goji Juice is basically the fruit without the strong flavor.  Some people love the flavor of Goji Berries, but for those that don’t this juice can be an excellent alternative.  Goji Juice is also often fortified with Lycopene which is found in tomatoes.  It helps boost antioxidant levels.  One ounce of Goji Juice can be compared to 50 mid-sized tomatoes, or 2.5 gallons of them.  Some studies show that lycopene can help significantly reduce the risk of heart disease, various cancers, macular degeneration and prostate problems.  Lycopene can also help to minimize the effects of erectile dysfunction.

Making your own Goji Juice:

To make Goji Juice, you should leave 1 cup of blueberries soaking in 2 cups of water (overnight for best results, for a minimum of 4 hours).    Next you have to decide on a flavor.  You can add banana, mango, blueberries, black berries, apple, or pretty much any other  fruit to the mixture.  Next, put your mixture through the blender, tuh-duh!  You now have Goji Juice!  For best results add more than one flavor.  You may also like adding sweetener, or honey to your drink for added sweetness.

Making a Goji Smoothie

Making a smoothie with Goji Berries is actually quite easy.  Once again, soak 1 cup of goji berries with 1 cup of blueberries for at least one hour.  Now add 2 bananas, 2 teaspoons of cocoa powder and 2 cups of almond milk (or the water that you soaked the Goji Berries in if you prefer).  Next, with a powerful blender mix them up!  You should have 2 large servings of Goji Berry Smoothies, or 3 smaller ones!

Goji Berries Trail Mix

Now this may still have Goji Berries in their berry form, but usually you’re consuming a few different items at a time, giving a nice taste.  Mix 1 cup of Goji Berries, half of a cup of chocolate chips, a cup of peanuts or pecans, 1 cup of walnuts or pecans (do not use pecans for both), and give it a nice mix!  You should keep this in an air-tight bag.  Give it to your kids on the next camping trip, they probably won’t even notice they’re eating something healthy!
