The Acai Berry is found in the Amazon Rain Forest in Brazil where as the Goji Berry is found in Tibet and China. The Acai Berry is small and grape sized where as the Goji Berry is much larger, but still reasonably small. Over the past few years, these fruits have both been referred to as super fruits several times. This is the result of media hype. While most of these rumors are false, the general idea behind them is true. For example, Goji Berries never cured cancer, but their auto-immune enhancing properties can help protect people from cancer. Both berries are great, however we feel that the Goji berry has clearly ‘won the war’. This is because the ORAC has established that Goji has much higher levels of antioxidants, which in essence help provide most of these great effects such as an enhanced immune system. Antioxidants help remove dangerous toxins which can cause you to become ill, age and gain weight. By removing these toxins from your system, you are effectively reducing your chances of becoming sick, being proactive against disease, helping yourself stay young (or at least looking that way). Removing these toxins will also help you in weight loss. Both foods also contain micronutrients. These micronutrients are not common in a lot of other foods, but they are essential to a long and healthy life. Today, we are going to try both. The recipe below teaches you how to make an acai-goji blend smoothie, for a delicious and extremely healthy snack. To start, you’ll need acai juice and goji juice. Pour half a cup of each in to a blender. Next, add 1 cup of milk to the blender. If you’d like, add a banana, blueberries, or mango for extra flavor. Bananas are best for creating thicker smoothies. Finally, add ½ cup of frozen yogurt, generally, vanilla is best, but you can use a different kind if you want even more flavor. Now, blend!
